Domino's Worker Shot In Indianapolis

Last updated on Friday, March 28, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A group of people tried to rob Domino’s Pizza employees at the end of their shift overnight, and ended up sending one of those workers to the hospital in critical condition.

Indianapolis police (IMPD) said at roughly 2:30 a.m. Thursday, as three employees at the Domino's Pizza near East 38th Street and Central Avenue were closing up shop and leaving for the night, they were approached by a group of people outside the store.

At least one of the three to five people was armed with a gun, police said, because during an attempt to rob the employees, there was a scuffle. The robbers shot one of the Domino's workers in the chest, sending him to Eskenazi Health in critical condition.

IMPD said all the robbers got away after the shooting, but investigators are still interviewing witnesses and going over store surveillance video to gather more details.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to report it to police at 317-327-3811 or report information anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477 (TIPS). Tips may also be texted with "INDYCS" to 274637.
