Daughter's Facebook Post Cost Father $80K

Last updated on Tuesday, March 4, 2014

(MIAMI) - A school employee in Florida lost $80,000 after his daughter shared too much information on Facebook.

Gulliver Preparatory School agreed to pay the money to settle an age discrimination lawsuit with former headmaster Patrick Snay, according to the Miami Herald.

But the settlement was tossed out after courts ruled Snay's daughter breached the terms of the confidentiality agreement, the Herald reported.

"Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver," Dana Snay posted on her Facebook page. "Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT."

Snay, 69, said he knew he and his wife were supposed to keep the "terms and existence" of the agreement private, but said he had to give his daughter an explanation.
