(BUTLERVILLE) - A Jennings County woman shot a Bartholomew County man in the leg Saturday after she found him in her 16-year-old granddaughter’s bedroom, police say.

28-year-old Daniel J. Sidwell was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of a gunshot wound to his right ankle after the incident, which was reported at about 11 a.m. at a residence in the Butlerville area.

Brenda Bowers, the woman accused of shooting Sidwell at her home on County Road 650E near 900N, was not charged in the incident.

The incident remains under investigation, said Maj. Jerry Shepherd, public information officer with Jennings County Sheriff's Department.
