Vincennes Man Arrested After Short Chase

(KNOX CO.) - Indiana State Police arrested a man Saturday night after a brief chase.

It happened around 9:45 p.m. near State Road 67, south of Bicknell.

Troopers said. 44-year-old John Odell, of Vincennes, was travelling southbound in a pickup truck at a high rate of speed. Authorities clocked him going 71 mph.

State police attempted to stop the truck, but Odell turned west on Bruce Road and kept going. He then drove through a stop sign at Windmill Road and continued west on Bruce Road.

Troopers said the chase ended when Odell turned off of Bruce Road onto the access road to Scepter Landfill, which was protected by a gate.

Odell was arrested and state police said he was driving on a suspended license. He is currently being held on bond in the Knox County Jail.
