Shelbyville Man Convicted For Deadly Hit And Run

Last updated on Friday, February 7, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A sentencing hearing is set for March 21st for Greg Hudson.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry says Hudson has been convicted of Failure to Stop at an Accident Causing Death (C Felony) for the Jan. 14, 2013, hit-and-run crash that killed Kathleen Clark. The verdict was the result of a Court Trial.

Authorities say Clark was discovered on the evening of Jan. 14, 2013, in the grass alongside of South Meridian Street just north of Troy Avenue in Indianapolis.

Officers were able to identify the vehicle make and model by viewing security camera footage from a nearby business. Following an anonymous tip, investigators visited a vehicle repair shop in Shelbyville where Hudson was identified as the vehicle owner and primary driver.

In statements given at the time of his arrest, Hudson admitted to striking something on Jan. 13, 2013. Curry says Hudson reported he stopped in a neighborhood close to the crash to look at the damage to his truck.

After looking at the damage and not determining what he had struck, Hudson said he returned home.

Curry says Hudson learned that he had struck a person on Jan. 15, 2013, but did not report the incident to the police.
