No Leads On Person Who Sparked November Ball State Alert

Last updated on Friday, February 7, 2014

(MUNCIE) - A Ball State University official says investigators haven’t been able to develop new leads into reports of possible gunman that led to a partial campus lockdown in November.

Associate Vice President Tony Proudfoot tells The Star Press that the police investigation has been put on hold until new information is found.

Part of the Muncie campus was locked down for more than three hours on Nov. 15 after several people in the Health and Physical Activity Building reported hearing someone repeatedly shout "gun!" A police search of several buildings turned up no sign of a weapon.

Proudfoot say investigators reviewed surveillance footage and conducted interviews without making progress. He says anyone with information about the incident is urged to call campus police.
