Indy Man Indicted In Child Sex Trafficking Probe

Last updated on Wednesday, February 5, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis man is in federal custody and charged with nine counts that include sex trafficking and prostituting of children.

U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett says 24-year-old Jerry "Tre da Great" Mitchell forced numerous female victims ages 12 to 21 into pornography and prostitution.

Mitchell's alleged activities date back to at least May 2013 when authorities say he transported minors for prostitution and sexually assaulted them on numerous occasions. They say Mitchell also made a video of the sexual abuse of a 16-year-old.

Authorities say Mitchell is the focus of their investigation and no charges have been brought against customers.

Mitchell - who faces federal and state charges - could get up to life in prison if convicted. Charges are among the first for the Indiana Protection for Abused and Trafficked Humans Task Force. The task force includes federal, state and local authorities and was created in 2006.
