(GREENSBURG) - The Honda plant in Greensburg is facing a federal lawsuit alleging racial discrimination.

In a story by Boris Ladwig with "The Greensburg Daily News," Clifford W. Holder, a black male, alleges repeated incidents of discrimination against him and other blacks. In the lawsuit, Holder alleges that blacks were passed over for promotion in order to benefit whites with less qualifications. He also complains that there is an overall atmosphere of racial insensitivity at the plant.

A Honda spokeswoman said the company disagrees with the allegations and is committed to a diverse work environment. Honda said in a statement that the company does not comment "on personnel issues involving current or past associates."
