Bisard Pleads Guilty To Second DUI

Last updated on Thursday, February 13, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Former Indianapolis police officer David Bisard pleaded guilty Wednesday in a case stemming from his second DUI arrest, but he won’t serve any additional time behind bars.

Bisard was arrested on April 27, 2013, after crashing his truck into a guardrail in Lawrence. Police found an open bottle of vodka in his truck.

Bisard reportedly tested at .22-percent BAC the day of the crash.

He was sentenced to a year in jail for the offense after pleading guilty, but the sentence was suspended.

Bisard was found guilty last year in a trial, which determined he was drunk when he crashed his patrol car into a group of motorcyclists in 2010, killing Eric Wells and gravely injuring Mary Mills and Kurt Weekly. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the crash.
