(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police are investigating after two people were found dead in a car on Indianapolis' west side Wednesday evening.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 1300 block of West 18th Street, near North Harding Street, around 8 p.m.

When police arrived, they found a male and female with multiple gunshot wounds inside a dark-colored Buick. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims were later identified as Dayeon Johnson, 20, and Katrina White, 20, both of Indianapolis.

Police said someone or multiple people had approached the parked car and fired several rounds into the car.

Officials said the case was being investigated as a double-homicide. Police said whoever shot the victims likely did so from outside of the vehicle.

Few other details were released. Police said they did not have any witnesses or suspects at the time.
