(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Senate is considering a bill that would stiffen the penalties for trespassing on farmland, resulting in monetary damage.
The Indiana Senate is considering a bill to make larger penalties for farm trespassing that results in $750 or more of damage.
Bloomington's Mark Stoops was a primary opponent of the bill, until the stipulation was changed to a monetary damage amount. Stoops says that will better protect animal rights activists.
If the bill passes the full State Senate, it would be considered next by the Indiana House.
