Speedway Student Died In Shooting

(SPEEDWAY) - Speedway Police say a 16-year-old Speedway High School student died in a shooting Wednesday night at an apartment complex.

Police were called to the 2800 block of Embassy Row at the International Village Apartments to investigate a report of shots fired.

They found 16-year-old Sayyid Abdul-Haqq in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speedway Investigators were assisted by Marion County Crime Lab and the Marion County Coroner's Office.

Police are not releasing any other information right now. Speedway Police urge anyone with information to please call Investigators at 246-4300, or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
