Snowy Footprints Lead Police To Burglary Suspect

Last updated on Thursday, January 30, 2014

(GREENFIELD) - The winter weather played a key role in the arrest of a suspected burglar in Greenfield.

Police say they caught him by following the footprints he left in the snow.

It happened early Tuesday morning when an 89-year-old woman heard a noise inside her home and discovered the intruder.

According to investigators, the victim's neighbor, 23-year-old Andrew Reeves, snatched her purse before running off.

Reeves was taken into custody after officers spotted a path in the snow leading to his home next-door, where they found the stolen purse.
