(INDIANAPOLIS) - Homicide investigators arrested a 16-year-old male Wednesday morning in the case of an Indianapolis taxi driver who was shot Monday night on the city's near-northwest side.

Police said they served the search warrant in the 2700 block of Fredonia Road. In addition to arresting the teen on an attempted murder charge, police also seized four guns.

Just before 11 p.m. Monday, the Yellow Cab driver - identified as Ricardo White, 34 - was shot near West 38th Street and Guion Road near Interstate 65, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said.

Investigators said White was on a pickup call in the 3400 block of Sherburne Circle when he was shot. The victim picked up two men (pictured), who asked to be taken to West 38th and Dr. Martin Luther King streets.

Police said a short time after that, one of the suspects asked the driver to stop and one of the suspects shot the driver and jumped out of the car. The other suspect also shot the driver and ran. There were reportedly no demands for money.

"It's an absolute act of senseless violence to do that, and to do that and shoot a driver that's just trying to make a living and work for his family and provide for his family," Tim Neville with Yellow Cab said.

IMPD reported the man was seriously wounded, having been shot in the neck. He was taken to Eskenazi Health in serious condition.

Police are still seeking a second suspect.

Yellow Cab offered a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to their arrest.
