Pence: State Government Open At 10 a.m. Tuesday

Last updated on Tuesday, January 7, 2014

(UNDATED) - The state gets back to work today following the heavy snow storm and extremely cold temperatures of the past few days.

Indiana Governor Mike Pence says state government will be open for all official business beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday. He says the state should be through at least the majority of this most recent weather event by that point and can get back to serving the public at full capacity.

Pence says his office is telling state employees that if they are under a travel advisory, they should follow that advisory. He says employees will be accommodated on an agency-by-agency basis.

Pence says he is proud of everyone who has helped with relief efforts during this storm including the work done by INDOT, Indiana State Police, the Indiana National Guard and volunteers at various shelters across the state. He says it's essential to have all hands on deck during a dangerous weather situation such as this.
