Indiana Native Killed In Air Force Helicopter Crash

(UNDATED) - One of the United States Air Force crewman killed in a helicopter crash in the United Kingdom was an Indiana native.

Tech Sgt. Dale Mathews was a native of Rolling Prairie, Indiana in LaPorte County and graduated from Rolling Prairie High School.

Mathews and three other crewmen were killed when their HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter crashed Tuesday night on the Norfolk coast in England. The crash happened during a "low-level" training mission.

The helicopter was part of the 48th Fighter Wing at the Royal Air Force Lakenheath base.

The crash also killed Capt. Christopher S. Stover, Capt. Sean M. Ruane and Staff Sgt. Afton M. Ponce.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
