Crews Scramble To Restore Power For Hoosier Residents

(INDIANAPOLIS) - It may be Thursday before power is restored to all customers of Indianapolis Power and Light.

More than 65,000 customers lost electricity during the winter storm.

IPL says crews are working "around the clock" with the help of mutual assistance crews.

Heavy snow on trees and power lines is the major cause of the outages.

On the coldest night of the year, about 6,000 electrical customers in Auburn are without power

The city has set up heating stations to provide relief from the extreme bitter cold and artic-like wind chills.

Duke Energy is working to restore power to approximately 1,000 customers in Fishers following Sunday's snow storm.

The Red Cross has opened a shelter at Fall Creek Intermediate School.
