CD Swept 30 Miles Away In Tornado

Last updated on Tuesday, January 28, 2014

(KOKOMO) - The owner of a central Indiana business destroyed by a November tornado has been reunited with a data CD the storm spit out some 30 miles away.

Michael Muchmore found the CD in a wooded area near the Grant County town of Sweetser. He loaded the CD on his home computer and found it was filled with photos of people in military uniforms and 1920s-style outfits.

The Kokomo Tribune reports Muchmore traced one of the photos to a Kokomo parochial school and mailed the disc to the school's principal, who returned it to Kokomo resident Margi Moore.

Her title business was destroyed by the tornado and the disc had been sitting on her desk when the storm struck. The photos on it were taken during a USO fundraiser.
