Last updated on Wednesday, January 15, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of two men accused of shooting an Indianapolis Yellow Cab driver on the city’s northwest side Monday night.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the entrance of the Abney Lakes Apartment Complex, which is near Sherburne Lane and Guion Road, not far from West 38th Street and I-65, around 10:50 p.m. with reports of a person shot.

The 34-year-old driver was taken to Eskanazi Hospital with gunshot wounds to the torso and face, police said.

Police said the driver picked up two males, who asked to be taken to West 38th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Street. A short time after being in the car, police said one of the males asked the driver to stop. The suspect shot the victim and then fled the car. The other suspect also shot the driver and fled the cab, said police. There were no demands for money.

The driver, who's name was not being released to the public Tuesday afternoon, had been upgraded to stable condition.

Yellow Cab is offering the reward $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspects' arrests.

If you have any information regarding the suspects contact Det. Chester Gooch at 317-327-3843. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers of Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
