Up To 4 Inches of Rain Fell In Parts Of Southern Indiana

Last updated on Monday, December 23, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A storm system that’s created headaches for holiday travelers has dropped inches — sometimes more than 5 — of rain on parts of southern Indiana, causing flooding in some low-lying areas.

StormTeam 6's Kyle Mounce said several spots picked up more than 5 inches, with Bloomington hitting 5.2 inches, Indianapolis hitting 3.43 inches and Kokomo hitting 2.25 inches.

Ryan says the heaviest bands of rain were expected to arrive Saturday night before tapering off early Sunday.

Ryan says flooding along creeks and streams will spill into Indiana's rivers Sunday, causing flooding that's expected to linger for days.
