(UNDATED) - As parts of south-central and southern Indiana prepares for the first major snowfall of the season, INDOT says it is ready to help keep the roads clear.
INDOT spokesman Nathan Riggs says they prepare all year for winter weather. He says they'll be keeping an eye on the forecasts especially as the storm draws near.
Riggs says they'll likely make a decision on how best to treat the incoming weather Thursday afternoon.
Riggs reminds drivers to give themselves extra time to get to their destinations and make sure to check weather and traffic reports before leaving the house.
He says it's best to give yourself extra space between you and the car in front of you as well.
