Indianapolis Party Leads To Gunshots And Injuries

Last updated on Monday, December 2, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A party on the northeast side got out of hand Friday night, leading to gunshots and several injuries after people were ejected by the homeowner, police said.

RTV6 reports that several IMPD officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired at a home on the 3400 block of East 34th Street at 10:17 p.m. Friday night. They arrived to find two teenage girls with gunshot wounds, and later learned of a third person injured.

The homeowner told police she was throwing a party for her teenage daughter when it grew too large for her to control. She said she abruptly ended the party and began ejecting attendees.

A short time later, she said, a group of males returned and a number of shots were fired on the street before another subject fired shots from the front doorway.

Police found that two girls who had attended the party were injured: one with a gunshot or fragment wound to her hand, and another with a bullet graze wound to her flank just above the waistline.

At 10:25 p.m., police were informed that an 18-year-old male had arrived at Methodist Hospital with multiple gunshots to his legs. The male victim told police the injuries were related to 34th Street incident.

Casings and shells of several different calibers were found on the scene.

No arrests were made, and police have not released any suspect information.
