Governor Pence Details 2014 Economic Plan

Last updated on Wednesday, December 18, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor Mike Pence is talking more about his plans to bolster the state’s economy.

The governor's second-year agenda includes a call to eliminate the personal property tax, ease business permitting, cut certain licensing requirements and other items. Pence is expected to deliver more details about his economic plan during a pair of stops Tuesday.

The governor's economic plan is the second piece of his 2014 agenda he is detailing before the General Assembly takes up his agenda. He talked about his education proposals during a stop in Corydon last week.

Lawmakers convene for their 2014 session next month.

Eliminating the personal property tax could prove to be a tough haul, however. Local leaders have already expressed serious concerns about losing a combined $1 billion in tax collections.
