Flu Cases On The Rise

Last updated on Tuesday, December 31, 2013

(UNDATED) - Flu is spreading across the nation. Some states like Massachusetts are especially hard hit and the peak of flu season isn’t expected until February.

Dr. Christopher Belcher is director of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. Belcher says influenza is rising in Indiana, but hasn't yet reached alarming levels.

He says the H1N1 strain, which was responsible for the pandemic since 2009, remains the main culprit this year.

Dr. Belcher says people can still get flu shots well into February.
