(SPENCER) - An elderly woman was killed in a Tuesday night house fire in Owen County.
The Sheriff's office received a call around 9:43 p.m. saying that a home was on fire approximately two miles south of Spencer on U.S. 231.
The caller said someone was possibly still in the residence.
Deputy's arrived at the residence to find it fully engulfed in flames.
Rescue crews later found the body of 83-year-old Ruth Ingalls inside the home.
The Indiana State Fire Marshall's office is now investigating.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
