(SPEEDWAY) - A 14-year-old boy led Speedway and Metro police on a chase after stealing a car with a tracking device, officials said.
Police said the boy stole a vehicle with a tracking device on it from the Port O' Call apartment complex on Monday morning.
The car chase ended at the Lowes store near 10th Street and Interstate 465 when the teen crashed into the store's nursery fence, police said.
After the crash, the teen fled on foot toward the Westlake Arms apartment complex, where he was taken into custody, police said.
The teen hit a Metro officer's car during the chase, near Gateway and Westhaven drives, police said. It was a minor crash, and the officer was not injured.
