Last updated on Wednesday, November 6, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Two Indiana State Police troopers escaped serious injury Tuesday when a semi cab rolled on top of their police patrol car on Interstate 70 in Indianapolis.

Police say a semitrailer and the troopers' patrol car were traveling in adjacent lanes Tuesday afternoon when the truck veered right and then left, striking the patrol car and sending both vehicles spinning, with the rig coming to rest atop the patrol car.

The two State Troopers and the truck driver were taken to the hospital for observation.

The semitrailer spilled a load of 4-by-8-foot sheets of steel.

The interstate was closed fro more than two hours.

The truck driver was cited for unsafe lane movement.
