Powerful Storms Race Through Area

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Powerful storms are moving quickly through the Midwest today, prompting tornado touchdowns in central Indiana.

There are reports of injuries after a large tornado touchdown outside of Peoria, Illinois. The storms have already led to the delay of the Bears game in Chicago today.

4:23 pm: Tornado warning remains in effect for southeastern Brown, Bartholomew, Jackson, Jennings, Lawrence and Monroe Counties until 4:45 pm.

4:20 pm: We're getting viewer pictures showing damage in Kokomo, Lebanon and many other cities and towns.

4:07 pm: Reports of tornado on the ground 11 miles northwest of Noblesville.

3:45 pm: Tornado warning until 4:15 pm for Boone, Clinton, Hamilton and Tipton Counties.

3:44 pm: Getting reports of tornadoes on the ground in Lebanon, Boone County; Swayzee, Grant County and Shoals, Martin County. Also possible tornadic activity in Kokomo.

3:30 pm: Tornado warning for western Boone, south central Clinton, northern Hendricks and east central Montgomery Counties until 4pm.

3:26 pm: Four shelters have been opened for mobile home residents at Columbus North, Hauser High, Taylorsville Elem and Southside Elem.

3:24 pm: Duke Energy reporting 12,977 without power. Check outages here.

3:20 pm: Reports of a tornado on the ground in Knox County; two homes and a church damaged.

3:20 pm: Tornado warning for northeastern Clinton, Howard, northwestern Madison and Tipton Counties until 3:45 pm.

3:12 pm: Tornado warning for northwestern Hendricks, Montgomery, east central Parke and northern Putnam Counties until 3:45 pm.

3:04 pm: Tornado warning until 3:30 pm for southeastern Fountain, southwestern Montgomery, northern Parke, northwestern Putnam and east central Vermillion Counties.

3:01 pm: As storms continue popping this afternoon, we're seeing some cancellations and delays out of Indianapolis International Airport. Check flight status here.

3:00 pm: Duke Energy now reporting 3,567 outages.

2:50 pm: Tornado warning for west central Cass and White Counties until 3:15 pm.

2:44 pm: Tornado warning remains in effect for eastern Fountain, northern Montgomery, southwestern Tippecanoe and east central Warren Counties until 3:00 pm.
2:43 pm: Trained weather spotter confirms tornado touchdown near Covington in Perrysville.

2:36 pm: Reports of strong wind gusts in Fountain County.

2:36 pm: Tornado Warning for Fountain, Montgomery, Tippecanoe and Warren County until 3:00pm

2:30 pm: Tornado sirens going off by I-65 in Tippecanoe County near Lafayette. Take cover if you are in the area.

2:30 pm: Tornado warning in effect for Fountain, Parke, Vermillion and Warren Counties until 2:45 pm.

A tornado watch has been issued for most of Indiana until 8 p.m. on Sunday.
