Last updated on Wednesday, November 20, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana power companies are warning customers that some won’t have electricity back until Friday after Sunday’s tornado outbreak.

Indiana Michigan Power says some 2,100 customers in the Marion-Hartford City area were still without power Tuesday morning and might not have it restored until late Friday. The company says some 3,800 customers in the South Bend area remain without power and might not have it back on until Thursday evening.

Duke Energy says the Kokomo and Lafayette areas were its hardest hit areas, with about 7,000 customers combined without power Tuesday morning. Duke says it hopes to have power restored to all customers by midday Wednesday.

So far, National Weather Service teams have determined that 23 tornadoes struck Indiana on Sunday.
