No Plea Agreement Reached In Theft And Forgery Case

Last updated on Wednesday, November 27, 2013

(VINCENNES) - Efforts to reach a plea agreement continue with attorneys for a Vincennes woman accused of embezzling just under $30,000 from the Wabash Valley Community Corrections Center.

Knox County Circuit Court officials say a scheduled hearing on a plea agreement with 44-year-old Beatrice Joyce has been delayed to allow more time for the prosecution and defense to reach a deal.

Joyce is facing 180 counts of theft and two counts of forgery.

The former Home Detention Director was arrested in November of 2010 after investigations by the Indiana State Board of Accounts and state police turned up the missing money.
