Woman Attacked And Forced Into Cornfield In Strawtown

Last updated on Monday, October 14, 2013

(STRAWTOWN) - The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department is actively searching Strawtown for a man who forced a woman into a cornfield and assaulted her Saturday night. They are looking for a male, possibly white, with a dark hoodie, as a suspect in the incident.

Officials say they were dispatched to Strawtown, just north of Noblesville, to the area of State Road 37 and Strawtown Road at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies met with a 30-year-old female who stated she had been babysitting in the mobile home park in Strawtown. She went to her vehicle to retrieve some items and was attacked. She said something was wrapped around her throat, then felt something poking her in the back and she was forced by an unknown male to walk about 200 yards down the road. She was then thrown into a cornfield and some of her clothing was forcibly removed.

The attacker apparently became scared when several cars began driving by so he left her in the field.

She was able to return to the residence and call police.

Hamilton County deputies and K9's currently have Strawtown Avenue shut down in the area.
