(DELAWARE CO.) - A semi-tractor driver was killed Wednesday morning after the truck he was sleeping in caught fire.

Baljinder Dhami, 30, of Brampton Ontario, was located in the sleeper of the truck, once the flames were extinguished.

Police said a trooper noticed the fully engulfed truck parked at a rest area as he was traveling southbound on I-69.

Authorities said the semi, registered to Karnipal Goods in Brampton, was at a total loss. The truck was loaded with food items.

An autopsy is underway to determine Dhami's exact cause of death.
