(INDIANAPOLIS) - A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle late Sunday morning, officials said.
The crash happened just before noon at East 38th Street and North Colorado Avenue, police said.
Police said the female victim was struck when she tried to cross East 38th Street.
The driver told police the victim ran in front of her vehicle.
The victim was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital where she later died.
Police said the driver of the vehicle was cooperative and alcohol was not suspected. She stopped at the scene and officials said she was unlikely to face charges.
