(INDIANAPOLIS) - A dad was arrested after his 8-month-old baby was found unresponsive inside an apartment on Indianapolis’ west side Monday.
Just before 2 p.m., emergency crews were called to the 500 block of Tomahawk Trail on reports of an unresponsive baby. After several unsuccessful attempts to revive the baby, the baby was rushed to Indiana University West Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives said the baby's parents, Charles Boston, 34, and Malorie Stauch, 27, were living in the apartment where the baby was found. Detectives also said marijuana plants and a gun were found inside the residence along with two other children.
The children were taken into custody by Child Protective Services.
Boston was arrested on several preliminary charges including drug and gun possession. Police did not say if Stauch would face any charges, or if the couple would face charges in connection to the child's death.
