Evansville High School Senior Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle While Riding Bike

(EVANSVILLE) - Authorities say an Evansville high school student has died after being hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle.

The Vanderburgh County coroner's office says 18-year-old Cole Deck died Sunday at a hospital from injuries he suffered when he was struck Saturday night.

The sheriff's department says Deck was riding his bicycle on a road just northwest of Evansville when he was struck from behind. Sgt. Matt Corn tells WFIE-TV the area isn't well lit and it appears the driver didn't see Deck.

Coroner Annie Groves tells the Evansville Courier & Press was riding home from work the Evansville Country Club. Deck was a senior at Evansville Central High School and the Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center.
