(BRAZIL) - Authorities in western Indiana are investigating whether someone put something into a pan of cornbread at a festival that made 11 people sick.
Clay County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Rob Gambill told the Tribune-Star that the people who got sick were vendors at the Covered Bridge Festival in Brazil, about 25 miles east of Terre Haute.
He says several people reported being dizzy or groggy and one person passed out. Emergency personnel were called to the scene to check for a possible natural gas leak or some other cause of the mass illness. But officials determined they had all eaten the cornbread.
Gambill says a sample of the cornbread will be submitted Monday to the Indiana State Police laboratory for testing.
All of those who fell ill have since recovered.
