Substance Left At Indianapolis VA Hospital Was Sugar

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Haz-mat units were called to the VA Medical Center on W. 10th St. in Indianapolis on Tuesday morning to investigate a report of an unknown substance.

SIFD Haz-Mat was called to the Roudebush Medical Center on W. 10th St. after a patient walked in with an envelope containing a white substance. Haz-Mat, the bomb squad and the Health Dept. was called in to investigate per protocol.

The substance turned out to be sugar.

The emergency room was slightly backed up due to the investigation but otherwise the medical center was operating normally.

It happened at 1481 West 10th Street at the Roudebush VA Medical Center.
