Police: Woman Wanted Daughter's Boyfriend Killed

Last updated on Monday, September 30, 2013

(KOKOMO) - A central Indiana woman accused of plotting to have her daughter’s boyfriend killed allegedly offered a police informant posing as a hit man cash and her late father’s rings.

Christy D. Shaffer of Kokomo is being held without bond at the Howard County Jail on a felony charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

A probable cause affidavit filed Friday states 35-year-old Shaffer asked a friend to find someone to kill her daughter's boyfriend because he was beating her. That friend called police, who arranged for a police informant to meet with Shaffer to discuss the proposed killing.

The Kokomo Tribune reports the affidavit states Shaffer gave the informant her late father's rings, $100 and a map showing where the boyfriend lived and said, "kill him in the street."
