Officer Accused Of Molesting 11-Year-Old Girl

Last updated on Wednesday, September 4, 2013

(JOHNSON CO.) - A Capitol Police Officer was accused of child molesting after witnesses told police they saw him engage in inappropriate activity with an 11-year-old girl in Johnson County.

Police said the alleged incident happened Sunday at a home in the 5600 block of South 550 East near a swimming pool. Detectives said the girl told them she was kissed and fondled by Officer Scott Litten, 43, of Anderson.

Litten was initially arrested on charges of sexual battery, but after a forensic interview by the Department of Child Services, the charges were upgraded to felony child molesting, police said.

Indiana State Police Capt. Dave Bursten said Litten has been with the department since July 2002. Following the arrest, he was placed on administrative leave with pay, pending a probable cause hearing in court.

Police did not give Litten's relation to the girl.
