(AUSTIN) - A 3-year-old boy from southern Indiana who had been missing since August was found Wednesday in Mexico.

Indiana State Police said Aedan Daehnke, of Austin, was abducted by his non-custodial mother during a visit with her on Aug. 11.

A felony warrant for custodial interference and escape were issued for Amie Sandlin, Aedan's mother, four days later after the boy was not returned to his father.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children featured Aedan's disappearance on its site, resulting in several tips coming in.

Sandlin and her son were found about 30 miles south of Tijuana. Authorities in Mexico and the U.S. Marsh's Office Fugitive Task Force took Sandlin into custody and she was sent back to the U.S.

Child Protective Services in California took custody of Aedan. He will be turned over to his father.

Sandlin is expected to be sent back to Indiana to face charges.
