(WAYNESVILLE) - The man identified by authorities as the sole suspect in the shooting deaths of four people at a southern Indiana home has had his trial on federal firearms charges delayed until next year.
A federal judge approved a request from 55-year-old Samuel Sallee for a new defense attorney last week and pushed back his scheduled trial from October until March.
Sallee has been jailed since soon after the May 11 shootings in the Bartholomew County community of Waynesville in which a woman and three men were killed. Sallee hasn't been charged in the shootings and has maintained his innocence.
Sallee is being held without bond on the federal charges of being a felon illegally possessing a weapon. Court records say investigators found a rifle in Sallee's garage in Columbus.
