IUPUI Police Issue Alert After Woman Grabbed

(INDIANAPOLIS) - IUPUI campus police say a man grabbed a female student Monday night as she walked on the west side of Cavanaugh Hall on University Boulevard.

The woman broke free and got away. She was not injured.

The only description of the man is a white male at least 6 ft. tall dressed in dark clothing. He was last seen walking south on University Blvd. towards New York St.

Students are being encouraged to walk in groups at night.

Safety tips:

Always be aware of your surroundings.

Let someone know where you're going.

Use the buddy system, walk with a friend.

Avoid secluded and or darkened areas.

Trust your instincts.
