(LaGRANGE) - A group has asked a northern Indiana prosecutor to step down from a case, saying he hasn't done enough to bring more charges in the death of a 16-month-old girl.

The Star of Auburn reports a group called does not believe the sentence Alissa Guernsey's foster mother received was adequate.

LaGrange County Prosecutor Jeff Wible received a certified letter Thursday from child advocate Bernadine Buccafuri of Pennsylvania asking him to step down and a special prosecutor be named. Wible says he will not respond, adding he shares the group's frustration.

Christy Shaffer of Topeka pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent causing bodily injury. She was sentenced to four years in prison, but a judge later modified the sentence to time already served - 77 days.
