Last updated on Wednesday, September 11, 2013

(EVANSVILLE) - Police have arrested an Evansville man after he allegedly shot an 11-year-old boy several times with a BB gun. One of the shots reportedly barely missing boy’s eye.

According to a police affidavit, 24-year-old Michael Logan Thomas shot him because the 11-year-old's younger brother had spilled nacho cheese sauce in his friend's car earlier that day.

Police said they recovered the weapon and the BBs. Several witnesses, including Thomas's friend, identified him as the shooter.

Officials said Thomas admitted to owning the gun, but said he never fired it that day.

He's being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail without bond on a criminal recklessness charge.
