(EVANSVILLE) - A 56-year-old man who died while riding a bicycle when he was struck by a sport utility vehicle in southwestern Indiana has been identified as the president of a subsidiary of natural gas utility Vectren Corp.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports that John Bohls was struck by the SUV outside Evansville about 10:30 a.m. Saturday. He had been president of Vectren Energy Marketing and Services Inc. since Sept. 2010.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the driver of the SUV, 23-year-old Paige Elpers of Louisville, Ky., says she struck Bohls in an intersection after he failed to stop at a stop sign.
