(MUNCIE) - Police say a jogger suffered serious injuries after she was struck by a vehicle in Muncie Tuesday afternoon.
The accident was reported just after 4 p.m. at Wheeling and Riverside avenues.
According to the Muncie Star Press. police say the victim was jogging on the crosswalk at Wheeling Avenue when she was hit by an Oldsmobile Intrigue that had run a red light.
Emergency responders said the woman hit her head on the windshield and was found about 22 feet away from the initial impact point. Her injuries are believed to be serious.
The driver of the Intrigue was cited at the scene.
The names of those involved in the accident were not immediately available.
