(EDINBURG) - An apparent murder-suicide Monday night in Edinburgh leaves two people dead.

Edinburgh Police Chief David Mann says the shooting took place at the intersection of E. Center Cross and Franklin streets about 7 p.m.

Mann says Kevin Stitt, of Edinburgh, rode a moped to the intersection, pulled out a .38-caliber handgun and shot Amber Stitt before turning the gun on himself. Police found Kevin Stitt dead at the scene.

Mann says Amber Stitt, who Kevin Stitt was separated from, was sent to Methodist Hospital where she died from gunshot wounds.

The investigation continues.
