Last updated on Thursday, August 8, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A one-year-old boy is in the hospital after a golf cart accident at the State Fair.

State police say a vendor had left the golf cart unattended near the DNR Building on the north side of the fairgrounds around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Another one- or two-year-old boy stepped on the gas pedal and ran over the victim.

The boy was transported by ambulance to Riley Hospital for Children-IU Health, where he was reportedly in stable condition.

The child's mother was nearby and was able to move the golf cart off of the victim.
