(MOORESVILLE) - Mooresville Police say they know who’s behind a Halloween robbery at a CVS store.
They believe putting the suspects in jail could put an end to robberies across the state.
"This all started out by a tip we received from the FBI," said Mooresville Police Detective Chad Richhart.
That tip lead Det. Richhart to Aaron Johnson, Bolton Thurman and his wife Dixie Jo. The trio face charges for robbing a CVS Pharmacy off State Road 67 early Halloween morning.
"They took the female cashier at gunpoint and they took the female pharmacist at gunpoint and had them lay on the ground back in the back of the pharmacy," Det. Richhart said.
Police said surveillance pictures show Johnson and Thurman inside the store. They said Thurman's wife was the look-out driver.
The three were able to get away with nearly $40,000 worth of prescription meds. But, police said they were caught robbing another CVS in Grant County.
"We were able to get some evidence to maybe help linked them to a few other CVS robberies," Det. Richhart said.
That evidence came from Johnson. Police said he admitted to robbing the CVS in Mooresville and that he had help- the Thurmans.
Det. Richhart said a search warrant of the Thurmans' home turned up tons of evidence.
"We also found lots of ammunition. We found the bag that was used to carry the pills out in our pharmacy and we found some of the clothing that was used in our CVS pharmacy," he said.
Police said they also found a map of CVS pharmacies around the state highlighted. Now they are trying to see if the trio is connected to more robberies, including one in Montgomery County, Ohio. In this case, police say on August 31 of last year the robber shot a CVS employee in the leg.
"We are working with these other departments trying to help them develop any probable cause, to see if they can make any arrests," Det. Richhart said.
Bolton Thurman was already in jail. His wife, Dixie Jo was arrested last Wednesday. Aaron Johnson is suppose to turn himself in to the Morgan County Sheriff's Department this evening. Each of them are facing charges of armed robbery, criminal confinement and intimidation.
