(FISHERS) - An Indiana State Police trooper was arrested early Sunday morning after a disturbance at a restaurant.
Indiana State Police said Trooper Christopher Dyer, who has been with the department for two years, was arrested on charges of criminal recklessness with a weapon, public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.
Few additional details were released about the incident, which ISP said happened at a restaurant near the 96th Street exit off Interstate 69 in Fishers.
Dyer was being held Sunday at the Hamilton County Jail and was expected to be released after posting bond.
"Once Dyer has posted bond, he will be placed on administrative duty pending the resolution of the criminal charges against him," ISP Sgt. Rich Myers said in a news release.
Aside from the Fishers Police Department investigation of the incident, ISP said it will conduct an internal investigation.
"The final result of an internal investigation could be disciplinary action inclusive of reprimand, suspension or termination of employment," Myers said.
Dyer had been assigned to road patrol duty at the Evansville ISP post.
